Terms and conditions for the Provision of Macau Cable TV
(MCTV) subscription television services

1.    Subscription
1.1) A customer must be at least 18 years of age.
1.2) The MCTV Services are provided for the customer contracted residential address and are intended for private Communal Household viewing only. The services must not be used for any commercial or illegal purposes.

2.    Services
2.1) MCTV will provide, under the present terms and conditions:
2.1.1) A standard service – the basic package  -  to all customers,
2.1.2) Optional services-the premium packages – to the customers that subscribe them.

2.2) MCTV basic package and premium packages will comprise the channels as per  the channel grid information provided at the time of installation.

2.3) With the exception of MCTV produced channels (if any), MCTV shall not be responsible for contents, programming quality and fulfillment of broadcasting schedules of the channels.

2.4) MCTV may change, due to technical or market considerations, and keeping similar characteristics, the composition of the subscribed service.

3.    Standard Service

3.1) The subscription of the basic package is for an initial period of up to the end of the second calendar month after the installation and activation of the MCTV service, and is automatically renewed for periods of one calendar month.

3.2) The provision of the service is subject to the customer residential address being covered by MCTV network.

3.3) A customer may, after the initial period, cancel his subscription of the standard service by giving not less than 10 working days written notice to MCTV. The subscription will be cancelled within 10 working days after receiving the written notice.

3.4) The cancellation of the standard service will imply the simultaneous cancellation of any subscribed optional services.

 

4.    Optional Services

4.1) The subscription of premium package(s) is for an initial period of up to the end of the second calendar month after activation of the premium package(s), and is (are) automatically renewed for periods of one calendar month .

4.2) A customer may cancel his subscription of the premium package(s), after the initial period ,by giving not less than 10 working days written notice to MCTV. The subscription will be cancelled within 10 working days after receiving the written notice. 

4.3) If the customer has ordered any premium package containing adult material, then the customer must ensure that any person under the age of 18 or anyone that may be offended by it does not view it. The MCTV digital decoder provides parental locking with a pin code, for any chosen channel.
 

5.    MCTV Digital Decoder and Smart Card

5.1) For the provision of the subscription television services the customer is required to have installed a MCTV digital decoder and a MCTV smart card.

5.2) MCTV will sell the decoder to the customer or alternatively will rent it to the customer, after payment of a deposit. In either case MCTV will provide a smart card to the customer, that will remain property of MCTV.

5.3) The digital decoder must not be opened up or tampered with in any way, except by MCTV authorized representative. In case of rental, the customer is responsible for any damage to the digital decoder while it is at his custody. Customer is not responsible for any fault on the digital decoder due to wear and tear. In the case that the decoder is sold to the customer, MCTV will offer a one-year warranty of the decoder. During the warranty period, MCTV will be responsible for the repair of any fault under normal utilization.

5.4) MCTV, upon termination of the contract, will refund, to the customer that rented the digital decoder, the respective deposit within 10 working days, if the digital decoder is returned undamaged and in full working order and all amounts due to MCTV by the customer are fully paid up.

5.5) If the rented digital decoder together with the smart card are not returned within 30 days of termination of contract, MCTV will charge the full price of a digital decoder and of the smart card.
 

6.    Fees and Payments

6.1) Fees will be charged in accordance with the government approved published tariffs.

6.2)    The published tariffs will change from time to time, subject to government  approval.

6.3) The installation fee and the digital decoder price or deposit must be paid by the customer before the installation of the service and digital decoder. The service will be provided within 30 calendar days after receipt of payment.

6.4) The monthly subscription fee(s) and, if applicable, rental fee, will be paid monthly in advance.

6.5) For the period between the date of activation of the MCTV service(s) and the end of that month, the monthly charges will be calculated in the proportion of the number of days of service to the total month days, and shall be payable together with the next month invoice.

6.6) A customer may terminate his subscription after the initial period, MCTV will refund in the proportion of the number of days after the service(s) termination. The respective refund shall be payable within 10 working days, if the digital decoder is returned undamaged and in full working order and all amounts due to MCTV by the customer are fully paid up.

6.7) Any one of the Premium Packages is chargeable in a whole month basis and is non-refundable upon termination on any date within the month. Application of the same Premium Package within the same month of termination will be charged again for the remaining days of the month.

6.8) If the customer does not pay an invoice until the due date, MCTV reserves the right to apply the penalty for late payment. If the customer does not pay within fourteen days after the due date, MCTV reserves the right to terminate the contract.
 

7.    Termination

If customer breaches any of these terms and conditions (including non-payment of any overdue fees), MCTV may suspend or terminate the service and reserves the rights to take legal actions.
